  • The first half hour will be dedicated to the poster presentations
  • Then, we will spend the next hour discussing the posters (this discussion will be facilitated by group members)
  • I always forget to take a break. So feel free to remind me if I forget!
  • I will facilitate the next hour of the class. I will be drawing on the weekly postings and the readings for this discussion.

We will use the last 15 min of each class to check in regarding class assignments and processes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”A Few Notes about Readings” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]I haven’t assigned a particular number of readings for each week.  My expectation is that MA students should be reading at least 3 articles weekly to be able to successfully complete the course. I carefully selected the weekly readings to provoke your thinking in a particular direction.  I really hope that these articles will contribute to your already wide CYC repertoire. I am passionate about the ideas that I propose to discuss in this course.  My goal this term is to share that passion with you.

If there are readings that you are already familiar with, please feel free to ask me to replace them.  I don’t want you to take a course that doesn’t challenge you, or that doesn’t extend your knowledge.

So how much to read?  Read to be prepared to engage in an ‘informed’ discussion. Read as much as you think you need to in order to write interesting and informed posts.  Read as much as you need to in order to respectfully challenge and extend your classmates’ thinking during class discussions. Read to be able to link your research and practice interests in a scholarly manner.  Please take the time that we are all dedicating to this class seriously.  More importantly, have fun.  Experiment. Be curious.  Think outside the box.

Through the course, I will be reading your blogs and paying attention to your contributions to class discussion.  I will take the responsibility of writing to you if I believe that you need to challenge yourself further with the readings.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Class Participation ” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]I define class participation by regular class attendance and active contributions to class discussions.   If you would like me to consider something else, please let me know by September 21st.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”In case you need assignment guidelines” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]All assignments are mandatory and must be typed, doubled spaced, written in Times New Roman 12 point with 1-inch margins, and adhere to the guidelines stated by the American Psychological Association (APA 6th edition).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”On Late Assignments” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]I will not accept late assignments if you have not contacted me at least 24 hours prior to the due date (even when the due date is set by you).  Remember to contact me as soon as you feel that you are falling behind with the work in this class.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Media & Technology” google_fonts=”font_family:Montserrat%3Aregular%2C700|font_style:400%20regular%3A400%3Anormal”][vc_column_text]If possible, bring your laptop, iPad, smart phone, etc so we can connect with our websites or share any other information in class for learning and collaboration.
