Therapeutic Relations and Poststructural Theory: Why?? How??

We have discussed concepts such as power, social construction, governing, subjectivity, and so on… We now want to begin to think how these concepts might be relevant to child and youth care practices.

Let’s think, for instance, about child and youth care’s emphasis on therapeutic relations:

Child and youth care involves the development of therapeutic relationships with children, their families and other informal and formal helpers.

Heidi Rimke‘s scholarship is an example of how we might use concepts such as power, social construction, governing, and subjectivity to critically engage with therapeutic practices.
